What the Comparison Is

The live comparison is a reading of published plan pages, checkout pages, administrator sites, and clinic confirmations. It is not a recommendation and it is not a quote. Exact, Indicative, and Unknown

• Exact: the published price or fact matches the species, age, and weight inputs used.
• Indicative: the figure can change by clinic, weight, or age, or the inputs are not complete enough for a single match.
• Unknown or not listed: the catalogue does not have evidenced text for that field.

Cat and rabbit prices can be exact from age alone. Dog prices need age plus weight, or age plus a CMA weight band, before the match is treated as exact. An age band such as under one year is not treated as a known month, so that match stays indicative.

Which Published Details Win

The comparison picks one published source for a plan: the clinic's published details if they exist, otherwise the corporate group's offer, otherwise the provider's general product details. Every fact is then read from that chosen source. If the chosen source has no evidenced value for a field, the comparison shows it as unknown. It does not fill the gap from another source.

Published details can change over time. How often we recheck a listing depends on whether the published page changed. When the catalogue is updated, the comparison shows the current published details, which is why a price you saw last month can change.
